DIPA OF THE MONTH
The selection of DIPA of the Month (DOM) for the month of MAY, 2023, chosen from the MY4PAX “Must Try Before You Die” category of superb tasting double IPA beers, is:
WINGED CREATURE. Ever Grain Brewing, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania crafted this outstanding New England style Triple IPA brewed with Motueka and Citra hops creating tropical aromas and flavors of gooseberry, lime, and guava with a soft mouthfeel. This big brew is a new 10.2% Triple IPA.
Looking to embark on a new adventure, lifelong friends Norm and Larry opened the doors to Ever Grain Brewing Company in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania in 2016. When Norm and Larry dreamed, they dreamed BIG. They now have a 10,000 square foot taproom and a 20 hectolitre brewhouse. Whether it’s a new experimental Double or Triple IPA bursting with aromas of sweet berries and floral blooms, they brew every single batch with creativity and innovation all while holding themselves to the highest quality standard possible.
Ever Grain Brewery is a privately owned farm, they feature 100% oak fermented mix culture and lambic-style beers. Along with storing and creating hundreds of barrels and beers they also grow and produce an assortment of local ingredients, such as vegetables, fruit, and honey; to utilize in their daily operations and brewing process. Ever Grain Brewing has an appreciation for funky, wild ales in a farmhouse style. They have a love for the land and growing things, all of which was their inspiration behind their brewery farm.
TASTE QUALITY ANALYSIS
To illustrate the difference in the overall taste quality between the selected DIPA of the Month (DOM) for MAY and that of the other samples in the 4PAX data set, we generated the following figure. It shows the average grades (solid dots) for each of the four measured taste parameters for the selected DOM versus the relative spread in the average grades for the remaining 4PAX data samples.
